Just today, I met with a personal trainer at my gym, who informed me after she weighed me that my blood pressure was a bit high. I have only ever had elevated blood pressure during the last few weeks of my pregnancy and during delivery 10 years ago. I do not drink, but I do smoke--though I would like to quit without gaining weight. Thus, the new workout regimen, and such. I have just begun to watch my food and know well what to eat to lose and maintain weight. I was told if my blood pressure remained high the next time, I would have to get a doctor's note. So that made me anxious, as having to stop exercising there until cleared would be a setback for me. I found your article helpful, though I wonderif the blood pressure, but being otherwise healthy, if slightly overweight, is enough to warrant a DR.'s release?
